A 28-year-old woman was found dead in her rented accommodation in Bareilly’s Ramganga Nagar on Friday. The postmortem revealed that she was brutally beaten before being strangled to death, police said on Saturday.

The woman, identified as Meera Sharma, a native of Mirpur Richhola village in Bisalpur police station area of Pilibhit district, was living with her lover after leaving her husband. Meera was married to Pawan, a resident of Malhpur village in Bhuta, around eight years ago. However, following disputes, she left her home, taking their four-year-old son
