India, New Zealand to finalise FTA soon: Goyal

Union commerce minister Piyush Goyal on Friday said the fourth round of IndiaNew Zealand free trade agreement (FTA) negotiations focused on market access of goods and services, along with economic and technical cooperation and investment opportunities between the two countries.

"We look forward to working towards the early conclusion of a balanced, comprehensive and mutually beneficial agreement, in line with the growing strategic and economic convergence between India and New Zealand," he said after concluding his three-day visit to the nation.

During his New Zealand visit, Goyal held several meetings with his counterpart Todd McClay to review ongoing FTA negotiations and discussed ways to deepen bilateral economic engagements. He also met Prime Minister Christopher Luxon on Wednesday in Auckland.
