SIT set up in Hry IGP suicide, wife seeks tough FIR sections

Kumar (52), a 2001-batch Indian Police Service (IPS) officer, was found dead with a gunshot wound in a room in the basement of his Sector 11 house.

In his “Final Note”, IPS officer Kumar had named 14 senior officers, including 10 IPS and 4 IAS officers, some retired — and alleging prolonged caste-based discrimination, targeted mental harassment, and humiliation within the Haryana Police since August 2020. The note had named 10 IPS officers, including DGP Kapur, Rohtak SP Narendra Bijarniya, among other senior police officers as well as four IAS officers including a former ACS Home Haryana and other senior bureaucrats. It accused the officer of “mental harassment and humiliation”.
