Journos protest delay in Cong leader's arrest

Agitated over the delay in arresting the acting Dhanbad district president of the Congress party, Rashid Raza Ansari, and five of his family members in connection with an alleged assault on journalists, a delegation from the Dhanbad Press Club led by senior journalist Ajay Prasad met senior superintendent of police (SSP) HP Janardhanan on Tuesday, demanding immediate action against the accused.
DHANBAD:
During the meeting, the SSP assured the delegation that action had been initiated in the matter and investigations were underway, people familiar with the matter said.
Meanwhile, in a parallel protest, journalists attended a Congress press conference wearing black ribbons on their arms to express discontent over the state leadership's "dilly-dallying attitude".
