The Jharkhand government received proposals for investment and partnership from seven European firms during the investment summit hosted by the 11-member high-level delegation led by chief minister Hemant Soren in Spain and Sweden, which concluded last week, officials said on Monday.
RANCHI:
Underlining that the state was lagging in foreign direct investment (FDI) compared to other states, Arwa Rajkamal, secretary (industry), who was part of the delegation, said only constant and continuous engagement with companies of a foreign country will increase the visibility of the state of Jharkhand and help in creating trust among investors, which would help attract FDI to the state.
Briefing reporters about the gains accrued from the eight-day trip from April 19-27, Rajkamal said, "We have received proposals and Letters of Intent from seven firms. Two of them have also quoted the desired investment figures, while proposals by five others are at the stage of discussion. Besides, we have received several suggestions and leads which will be developed for increasing investment as well as fine-tuning various industrial policies in the state."
