BJP Extends Support to Villagers Opposing RIMS-2

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), on Saturday, extended support to villagers protesting the construction of the second phase of the Rajendra Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS-2) on their agricultural land across the Ring Road near Nagri village on the outskirts of the state capital.
RANCHI:
The villagers argue that the authorities should identify an alternate location for the project and spare their agricultural land, which is their primary earning.
Leader of Opposition (LoP) Babulal Marandi visited the site on Saturday and extended support to the protesting landowners, saying that the state should relocate the project, which is yet to start, to barren land.
RIMS, located in the heart of Ranchi, is the largest and only tertiary care government hospital in the state. With the hospital infrastructure crumbling due to an influx of patients from across the state, the government decided to construct RIMS-2, a separate medical college and hospital on the outskirts of Ranchi.
