SC Remits Pendency of Revenue Court Case Back to HC for Fresh Consideration

JODHPUR: The Supreme Court, while hearing an appeal filed by the state of Rajasthan, on Tuesday kept in abeyance the directions issued by the Rajasthan high court in a public interest litigation (PIL) concerning the pendency of revenue court cases.
A bench comprising Justice KV Viswanathan and Justice Nongmeikapam Kotiswar Singh remitted the matter back to the high court for fresh consideration and disposal, taking into account the present state of affairs.
The Rajasthan high court, in its October 1, 2018 order, had directed the state government to appoint three assistant collectors in each district to exclusively handle revenue suits and appeals.
