Ruckus in House as LoP denied to raise question

The opposition staged a walkout from the Legislative Assembly after Leader of Opposition Tika Ram Jully was denied permission to ask a supplementary question on Monday.

JAIPUR: The refusal sparked a major uproar, with Congress legislators entering the well of the House and raising slogans in protest.

During the Question Hour, speaker Vasudev Devnani denied permission to Jully to ask a supplementary question. When the LoP protested, Devnani grew angry, asserting, "I have been cooperating with you, but you are taking undue advantage. I have already allowed you to ask supplementary questions three times." This triggered a strong response from Jully, who countered, "You are not doing us a favour by allowing us to ask questions; it is the opposition's right."

However, the speaker denied him permission and moved on to the next question. Jully protested and the Congress legislators stood up from their seats and entered the well of the House.
