JAIPUR: An anti-corruption bureau investigation into Jaipur district transport officer Sanjay Sharma has revealed that he forced people to pay off his debt to a US-based bank in the form of bribes, an ACB official said on Monday.
The ACB initiated an investigation against Sharma with a piece of land worth ₹50-crore owned by him in Uttar Pradesh and his foreign trips under the scanner.
"After a thorough probe into his bank accounts, the agency found that Sharma had barely received any bribe through cash. He used to make his clients pay the bribe as a loan installment at one of his bank accounts in the US. Meanwhile, a good amount of bribe he had taken as the fees of his children's colleges," said the officer concerned to the matter on Monday.
