IMD issues alert for heavy rain in 7 distts

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Sunday issued an alert for heavy rainfall in seven eastern and southern Rajasthan districts while the schools in Dholpur has been shut by the districts administration for the next three days in view of the incessant rainfall.

In an official statement, the IMD Jaipur said: “A depression system, which was formed over Madhya Pradesh, has been weakened on Sunday and has turned into a well-marked low pressure area (WML). It is currently located over northwest-ern Madhya Pradesh, due to which heavy to very heavy rainfall has been recorded in some parts of Kota, Udaipur, Jaipur, Bharatpur and Jodhpur divisions in the last 24 hours.”
