JAIPUR:

The accident occurred on the Itawa-Dhanawa Road in the rural Sultanpur area. Both vehicles reportedly veered off the road and plunged into roadside ditches about 5ft away from the collision point due to the intensity of the impact.

"The car was headed toward Sultanpur, while the bike being driven by a man, carrying his wife, their 8-month-old son, and the man's niece—was on its way from Sultanpur to Itawa. Preliminary reports suggest the bike riders were returning from a condolence visit in the nearby village of Genta to their home in Bhaura," deputy SP Rajesh Dhaka said.

The deceased have been identified as Beera alias Liaqat, a resident of Bhaura, his wife Sitara, their 8-month-old son Laiq, and his 1-year-old niece Zoya. Liaqat worked at a construction supply shop in Simlia.

Their bodies have been kept at the Sultanpur mortuary for post-mortem examination.

JODHPUR: A couple allegedly killed their three children by poisoning, strangling and slitting their throats and wrists before attempting to die by suicide in Phalodi district of Rajasthan, police said on Tuesday.
