Finance min to table 'green' budget, no freebies expected

THE 'GREEN' BUDGET WILL FOCUS ON PRESERVING AND SAFEGUARDING ENVIRONMENT, WITH ALL DEPTS BEING DIRECTED TO INCORPORATE ECO-FRIENDLY PRACTICES INTO THEIR PROJECTS
JAIPUR: Finance minister Diya Kumari is expected to present the state budget on Wednesday with focus on environment-friendly projects for the fiscal year 2025-26, marking a significant shift towards sustainability and environmental responsibility, a senior government functionary said.
The "green" budget will highlight the state government's commitment to environmental protection, the functionary, who was familiar with the matter, said on condition of anonymity.
"The 'green' budget will focus on preserving and safeguarding the environment, with all government departments being directed to incorporate eco-friendly practices into their projects. Whether it is road construction, building development, or water conservation, the 'green' budget will ensure that these activities align with sustainability goals to prevent any harm to the environment," he said.
