PCMC draft DP records 49,570 public objections

As 60-day window for feedback closed on Monday, it’s become clear that the draft is facing a pushback from residents
PUNE: The Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) has received 49,570 written suggestions and objections from citizens as the 60-day window for feedback on its revised draft Development Plan (DP) officially closed on Monday, said civic officials.
The PCMC on May 14 had unveiled its draft Development Plan (DP) for the twin cities of Pimpri Chinchwad. It included 28 new villages that were merged into the PCMC limits much later after its formation. It covers 173.24 square kilometres of area and was approved by the civic General Body meeting under section 26(1) of the Maharashtra Regional and Town Planning Act, 1966.
