Trump celebrates Colbert's exit; says Fallon and Kimmel next to go

After CBS announced The Late Show with Stephen Colbert would end in May 2026, US President Donald Trump celebrated the news and hoped for Jimmy Fallon and Jimmy Kimmel's shows to get cancelled too (see inset).

"I absolutely love that Colbert got fired. His talent was even less than his ratings," wrote Trump on Truth Social.
His gloating came in the wake of CBS pulling the plug on The Late Show's decade-long run on American television. The network cited financial losses as the reason behind its decision, despite Colbert consistently leading the ratings.
