On completion of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government's three years in office, chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Saturday said that many "historic" decisions were taken by his government during the period, while dealing with challenges in the form of disasters, and threats to mool swaroop (original features) of Devbhoomi (land of gods).

DEHRADUN:

He listed introduction of the Uniform Civil Code (UCC), anti-conversion law, anti-cheating law and land law as the BJP government's achievements.

"Since the formation of Uttarakhand, there was a long-standing belief that every five years, the government would change. However, in 2022, the people of Devbhoomi shattered this myth by giving the BJP another opportunity to serve," Dhami said at the outset of the press conference at the chief minister's residence in Dehradun.

"We have continued to uphold people's aspirations and trust by making significant decisions along the way. Our journey has not been without challenges, whether it was the Raini tragedy, the Silkyara tunnel incident, the devastating floods, or the calamities from Chamoli to the Kedarnath Valley. The world witnessed how we successfully carried out the Silkyara tunnel rescue operation. After 17 days of relentless efforts, we rescued 41 brave workers. Recently, during the Mana avalanche, we managed to save 46 out of 54 people," he said.
