TEJASHWI YADAV HIGHLIGHTED 11 MAJOR FLAWS IN THE ECI'S SIR PROCESS, RAISING ALARMS OVER TRANSPARENCY AND VOTER RIGHTS
Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader and leader of Opposition in the Bihar assembly, Tejashwi Yadav, on Sunday slammed of the Election Commission of India (ECI), accusing it of conducting a “fraudulent” Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of voter lists in Bihar at the behest of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).
Speaking at a joint press conference with INDIA bloc leaders at his residence, Yadav alleged that the ECI is undermining democracy by rejecting widely accepted documents like Aadhaar, ration cards, and voter IDs for voter verification and uploading fake data to skew the electoral process.
The press conference was addressed by key INDIA bloc leaders, including Bihar Pradesh Congress Committee (BPCC) president Rajesh Ram, Congress legislative party leader Shakeel Ahmad Khan, Vikassheel Insaan Party chief Mukesh Sahni, CPI-ML’s Dhirendra Kumar Jha and KD Yadav, CPI-M’s Lalan Chaudhary and CPI's Rambabu.
Yadav highlighted 11 major flaws in the ECI's SIR process, raising alarms over transparency and voter rights ahead of the Bihar assembly elections.
