India 'Close' To Cutting GST, Rationalising Rates, Says FM

India is close to reducing its goods and services tax and work on rationalising rates is in its final stages, finance minister Nirmala Sitharaman said.

The revenue neutral rate fell to 11.4% in 2023 from 15.8% when GST was introduced in 2017, the minister told The Economic Times Awards for Corporate Excellence Saturday, adding that "it will come down even further."
