Ambitious Projects Will Interlink the Water of Ganga, Karmnasha, Sone, Kuhira and Durgawati Rivers in Bihar

- Prasun K Mishra

BHABUA: State government has approved ambitious projects interlinking the water of Ganga, Karmnasha, Sone, Kuhira and Durgawati rivers in Bihar. The projects are all set to prove to be a boon for the farming community, especially poor farmers living in the hilly Kaimur district in south west Bihar, after their completion in June 2027.

With capacity to provide 840 cusec irrigation waters to the drought-affected farming lands in Chainpur, Chand, Durgawati, Ramgarh and Nuaon blocks, the twin projects are believed to script a history of prosperity and will likely change the fate of people in its command area spread over 15,000 hectares, Kaimur district magistrate Sawan Kumar said.
