Campa, Pepsi plan plant in Begusarai

Unfazed by protest from locals over alleged depletion of water table around industrial growth centre (IGC), Begusarai, Apic Agro Products Limited has planned to set up a big bottling plant for Reliance Consumer Products Ltd's (RCPL) owned soft-drink Campa Cola in the area.
PATNA:
Senior officials of the Bihar Industrial Area Development Authority (BIADA) said that around 45.50 acres of land has been earmarked in the IGC, Begusarai for setting up a bottling plant, costing ₹1190 crore. The bottling plant of Campa Cola will be opened near PepsiCo's installation, which has been in the eye of a storm over alleged 'exploitation' of groundwater.
"Investment proposal of Apic Agro Products Ltd, a franchise of RCPL is under process for the first stage clearance by the state investments promotion board (SIPB) of the industries department. It will be one of the biggest plants of Campa Cola," said a senior BIADA official.
