Arms Scam: CBI raid against IAS officer

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) late on Wednesday carried out searches at seven places including Patna in connection with a probe into alleged accumulation of disproportionate assets by 2010-batch IAS officer, Kumar Rajeev Ranjan, a native of Bihar.
PATNA: Rajeev Ranjan, Arunachal Pradesh-Goa-Mizoram and Union Territories cadre IAS officer, is currently posted as Revenue Secretary in Jammu & Kashmir, is accused in the infamous arms license scam of the state.
CBI official familiar with the matter told HT that, Rajeev Ranjan along with a retired officer Itrit Hussain Rafiqui -- both had worked as Kupwara DMs -- were arrested in the case by CBI on March 1, 2020, following which Rajeev Ranjan was suspended by the J&K government.
