NGT seeks new report on Delhi water bodies

According to the S.W.A. data, there are 1,045 water bodies in revenue records, but only 674 were found
NEW DELHI: The National Green Tribunal (NGT) has directed the Delhi State Wetland Authority (SWA) to submit within eight weeks a fresh report on the status of all water bodies in the Capital, complete with their khasra numbers, area, geocoordinates, encroachments and the status of revival.
The direction came even as the green court slammed the wetland authority for filing an affidavit earlier with most of these details missing, thus not giving a clear picture on the status of Delhi's water bodies.
NGT was hearing a plea on the preservation and water bodies in Delhi.
