Kashmiri students, traders face threats; Uttarakhand man booked

Jammu and Kashmir chief minister Omar Abdullah on Thursday spoke to his counterparts in other states to ensure "extra care" amid fears of harassment of Kashmiri students and traders following Tuesday's terrorist attack in Pahalgam where 26 tourists were killed.
SRINAGAR/DEHRADUN/PRAYAGRAJ: Jammu and Kashmir chief minister Omar Abdullah on Thursday spoke to his counterparts in other states to ensure "extra care" amid fears of harassment of Kashmiri students and traders following Tuesday's terrorist attack in Pahalgam where 26 tourists were killed.
"The J&K government is in touch with the governments of the states where these reports are originating from. I'm also in touch with my counterpart Chief Ministers in these states & have requested they take extra care," Abdullah said in a post on X.
Jammu and Kashmir's Resident Commission in New Delhi has established a helpline for the students of Union territory studying across the country.
