Fleet of operational aircraft totals 680, IndiGo tops list

Indian airlines currently have 680 operational aircraft for travellers, minister of state for civil aviation Murlidhar Mohol informed Parliament on Monday.

While replying to MP Parimal Nathwani, Mohol gave details of operational aircraft with the Indian airlines.
According to government data, the largest fleet is held by IndiGo, with 319 aircraft currently in service, making it the dominant player in the Indian aviation market. Air India follows with 198 operational aircraft, reflecting its extensive network and legacy status. Other notable players include Air India Express with 101 aircraft, serving mainly international routes, and Akasa, a relatively new entrant, with 27 aircraft.
