Demolition of kiosks near RRTS station to continue: HC

NEW DELHI: The Delhi high court has refused to intervene in the demolition of kiosks near the Namo Bharat Metro Rail Station in Sarai Kale Khan in south Delhi, saying that the Regional Rapid Transit System (RRTS) line was a crucial project.
The Delhi-Ghaziabad-Meerut RRTS corridor, stretching over 82km, is expected to shrink travel time between Delhi and Meerut to less than an hour.
A bench of justices Prathiba M Singh and Rajneesh Kumar Gupta observed the "tehbazari" certificate for the shops, which was issued in January 2018, was temporary in nature and asked the kiosk owners to take out their belongings.
