1 killed, 7 injured as SUV rams into mini truck; 19-yr-old driver arrested

A 27-year-old man was killed and seven others were injured after a speeding Land Rover SUV rammed into a mini truck carrying 17 people in Bemetara district of Chhattisgarh, police said on Monday, adding that the driver was later arrested and produced in court.
According to police, the incident took place on Sunday night in Singhauri ward under the Kotwali city police station limits. Officials said that 17 people from the Boriya-Bagod village were returning home in the goods vehicle after attending a family function in Baijalpur when a Land Rover Defender allegedly hit it from behind.
