Venezuela slams US threat amid buzz over Pentagon pizza report

Venezuela on Saturday slammed US President Donald Trump's warning that Venezuelan airspace should be considered closed, calling it a “colonialist threat,” AFP reported.
“Venezuela denounces and condemns the colonialist threat that seeks to affect the sovereignty of its airspace, constituting yet another extravagant, illegal and unjustified aggression against the Venezuelan people,” the Foreign Ministry said in a statement.
Trump on Saturday had posted on Truth Social the airspace “above and surrounding” Venezuela should be considered as “closed in its entirety”.
It was unclear whether he was announcing a new policy or simply reinforcing the messaging around his campaign against Maduro, AP reported.
