Hamas did not demand a permanent ceasefire or full withdrawal as a condition to release the hostages. Instead, the order was reversed — hostage release first, and then withdrawal
Hamas has agreed to release the remaining hostages from its 2023 attack on Israel and accepted key elements of a US peace plan proposed by President Donald Trump, offering uncertain hopes for ending the two-year conflict in Gaza even as Israeli bombardments continued on Saturday.
The militant group said it was prepared to free the last of the hostages but indicated that other aspects of Trump's 20-point proposal would require further negotiation, including demands that Hamas disarm completely.
