Court closes all cases against Sandesaras

Six days after the Supreme Court gave final clearance to quash all criminal proceedings against fugitive promoters of Sterling Biotech Ltd, Chetan Jayantilal Sandesara and Nitin Sandesara, a Delhi court on Tuesday closed all cases against the brothers.
As a result of the full and final payment last week, when the brothers deposited ₹5,111 crore in compliance with the assurance given to the apex court, two cases each registered by the CBI and ED in 2017, the Fugitive Economic Offenders 2018 Act proceedings initiated by ED, Series Fraud Investigation Office (SFIO) probe under the Companies Act, and an income tax investigation under the Black Money Act were quashed.
