Cong alleges senior bureaucrats involved in ‘corruption ring’

The Congress on Friday alleged that senior bureaucrats were involved in a corruption ring and questioned appointment and recent removal of former Prasar Bharati chairperson Navneet Sehgal from key public positions.
Congress spokesperson Pawan Khera alleged that Sehgal was a central figure in what he described as the “Scam UP 112,” referring to alleged financial irregularities linked to government schemes in Uttar Pradesh. He said the allegations ‘were based on a report prepared by the Income Tax Department and published by a web portal.
Sehgal refuted the allegations. “The allegations on me are false and fabricated. The IT department itself had rejected that preliminary report’, said Navneet Sehgal.
