SILCHAR: Assamese actress Nandini Kashyap was arrested on Wednesday in connection with a July 25 hit-and-run accident which claimed the life of a 21-year-old student of Nalbari Polytechnic, police said.

Kashyap was arrested around 1.30am from Guwahati and produced before the court on Wednesday, DCP (traffic) Guwahati, Jayanta Sarathi Bora said, adding that a case has been registered under Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) section 105 (culpable homicide not amounting to murder) and Bhartiya Nagrik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS) section 125B (hit-and-run causing death) — both non-bailable offences.
