Rain, snow likely in Valley from February 16, says weatherman

The maximum temperatures saw a rise at most of the places in Himachal, remaining above normal on Thursday by over two notches, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) said.

Dhaulakuan in Sirmaur district was the hottest in the state, with mercury touching a high of 24.5 degrees Celsius. In Una, the maximum temperature was recorded at 24.4 degrees, 2.1 degrees above normal.

In Shimla, the mercury climbed to 14.5 degrees Celsius, 1.8 degrees above normal, and Dharamshala saw a maximum of 18.9 degrees Celsius, 1.6 degrees above normal.

According to IMD's Shimla office, the maximum temperatures were above normal by about two to five degrees, ranging from 22 to 27 degrees Celsius in most plain areas of the state.
