Tourism sector objects plan to rename Mt Abu

The tourism sector and allied associations on Tuesday opposed the state government's proposal to rename Mt Abu and also ban liquor and non veg to promote it as a religious pilgrimage site.
JAIPUR: They said that the move will leave thousands of people jobless and several affect the tourism in the state's only hill station that draws around 2.5 million tourists and ₹100 crore in excise revenue.
Mt Abu situated at a height of 1,220m attracts a large number of tourists each year and the local economy is mainly driven by tourism.
