GURUGRAM: Police have cracked open two long-forgotten cases — one registered as a road accident and another logged as a missing person — to expose a conspiracy that ties three murders across five years to a single accused: a 42-year-old woman who, police say, eliminated her financiers rather than repay them.
The unravelling began with the November 2024 murder of Rajender Kumar, a 52-year-old businessman from Shikohpur. His SUV was found abandoned a day after he was reported missing, prompting police to retrace his last known movements. Surveillance footage and call records led them to Sushma, a construction entrepreneur based in Sector 1, IMT Manesar.
"She called him to her home, served him tea spiked with sedatives, and then, with the help of an associate, strangled him," said ACP (crime) Varun Kumar Dahiya. "We arrested the accomplice soon after."
