Fresh spell of snow, rain lash parts of hill districts

Light to moderate spells of snow and rain lashed parts of hill districts including Harsil, Badrinath, and Kedarnath on Thursday.

In Uttarkashi district, Gangotri National Highway was blocked for traffic due to light snowfall from Sukki Top to Harsil and Gangotri shrine prompting PWD officials to clear the snow from the road to restore the traffic early morning on Thursday.
Keerti Panwar, district information officer said, "Cloud cover was observed in the areas of Yamunotri Dham, Janki Chatti/Sankri while light snowfall was experienced in Sukki, Harsil, and the Gangotri Dham region".
According to Border Roads Organisation (BRO) authorities Gangotri National Highway was blocked due to snowfall from Sukki Top to Gangotri and snow clearance work was on using the snow blowers in the area, added Keerti Panwar.
