The ministry of home affairs (MHA) on Tuesday asked non government organisations (NGOs) to submit their application for the renewal of the registration under the Foreign Contribution Regulation Act (FCRA) at least four months ahead of the licence’s expiry so that the ministry can process them in a timely manner and there is no disruption in their activities.

The Act states that all NGOs that receive foreign funding mandatorily have to register with the foreigners unit of the MHA.

The registration certification is normally valid for five years and can be renewed after submitting a fresh application.
