9 swept away during religious dip in Brahmaputra; 4 rescued

A group of nine people, including two tourists from Europe, were reportedly swept away by the strong currents of the Brahmaputra River in Guwahati's Uzanbazar while performing a ‘bhakti snan’ (religious dip) ritual on Wednesday afternoon.
According to officials, four people, including the two foreign nationals, were rescued, while five others remain missing, prompting a large-scale rescue operation.
