Police Said the Girl Did Not Reveal the Incident to Anyone Because the Accused Had Threatened to Kill Her if She Told Her Family

- HT Correspondent

NEW DELHI: The Delhi Police has arrested a 62-year-old man from Sarojini Nagar on charges of allegedly repeatedly raping a girl in his neighbourhood, aged 16, over the course of the last few months. Police said the girl did not reveal the matter to her parents out of fear as the accused had threatened to kill her if she were to talk about her ordeal with anyone.

Police said the incident came to light on February 6, after the girl fell sick and was admitted to Safdarjung Hospital. Doctors there told the minor and her family that she was two months pregnant.
