2022 NYE accident: Kin of victim awarded ₹36l

Three years after 20-year-old Anjali lost her life in a horrifying hit-and-drag case that shocked Delhi on New Year's Eve, a city court has awarded her family ₹36 lakh in compensation.
The Motor Accident Claims Tribunal (MACT) at Rohini Courts observed that her death was the result of the rash and negligent conduct of the car's driver.
Judge Vikram, in a 17-page judgment delivered on October 27, said: “From the evidence which has come on record, it is held that the rashness and negligence on the part of the driver of the offending vehicle, which is clearly visible as such, was responsible not only for this accident but also for everything that followed thereafter.”
