Estranged cousins Raj Thackeray and Uddhav Thackeray, who lead the Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) and the Shiv Sena (UBT) respectively, hinted at the possibility of a reconciliation in the interests of native Marathi speakers on Saturday.
MUMBAI:
While Raj said uniting in the interests of "Marathi manoos", or Marathi speakers, was not difficult, Uddhav at a separate event said he was ready to put aside "trivial" fights, provided that those working against Maharashtra's interests were not entertained.
Though leaders of other political parties said they welcomed a reunification of the Thackerays, a political analyst said significant hurdles exist.
