HARIDWAR: Haridwar police arrested a 30-year-old hockey coach on charges of raping a minor hockey player, senior police officers aware of the matter said on Monday, adding that the contract of the coach has been terminated.

Senior superintendent of Haridwar district Pramendra Dobhal said that circle officer (city) Juhi Manral has been directed to supervise the investigation.

On Sunday evening, the 16-year-old girl told police that the hockey coach allegedly raped her at the preparatory camp of the National Games at Roshanabad, 12 km from Haridwar city, Dobhal added.
