AAP Vows Homes for Govt Staff in Tranches

Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) national convener Arvind Kejriwal on Sunday promised to formulate a scheme to provide government employees, starting with sanitation workers, permanent houses on instalments "where they can stay after they retire", in a poll promise aimed at canvassing government workers to vote for the party in the assembly polls on February 5.
NEW DELHI: Bharatiya Janata Party's (BJP) Delhi president Virendra Sachdeva on Sunday said that Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) chief Arvind Kejriwal attempted to politicise the attack on Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan last week but has remained silent on the accused's identity as a Bangladeshi immigrant.
"Arvind Kejriwal had vocally reacted on the day actor Saif Ali Khan was attacked but has gone silent upon learning that the attacker is a Bangladeshi. BJP has been saying from day one that Rohingyas and Bangladeshis pose a security threat. However, Kejriwal provides them shelter in Delhi," Sachdeva said.
Mumbai Police said that the attack accused is prima facie from Bangladesh and had come to Mumbai around six months ago.
The AAP responded that Bangladeshis were being able to enter India due to the BJP's mismanagement.
On January 16, Kejriwal had raised the issue of law and order in Delhi and other parts of the country in the wake of the attack on the actor, calling it a "stark reminder of the worsening law and order situation under the BJP-led governments".
