Women Participation in Peacekeeping Must

India sees peacekeeping as an effective instrument to maintain international peace and security and the participation of women in such operations makes them diverse and inclusive, external affairs minister S Jaishankar said on Monday.
NEW DELHI:
Addressing the inaugural session of the conference -- organised by the ministries of external affairs and defence and the Center for UN Peacekeeping -- on the theme "Women peacekeepers from the Global South", Jaishankar said India will continue contributing meaningfully to United Nations peacekeeping while backing Global South in peacekeeping capacities.
