LA fires have lessons for India's readiness plans

Forest Fires are on the front burner today, after the catastrophic infernos in Southern California.
Initial estimates are that the losses to the US are about $20 billion, very few of which insurance is likely to be able to cover. With 14 dead and over 10,000 structures burned, according to media reports, this is the costliest fire in the US History.
What are the lessons for India? I am not comparing apples to oranges—India is vulnerable.
