Indian exporters to gain from US-China tariff war

Indian exporters are poised to gain from the ongoing US-China tariff war, with experts projecting overall exports to exceed $800 billion in FY26, aided by recent budget initiatives and potentially more competitive exports in the US market, government officials said.
NEW DELHI:
The US announced 10% higher duties on Chinese imports, following which Beijing retaliated with 15% tariffs on some imports from the US.
The 10% duty advantage against Chinese goods is expected to significantly boost Indian exports to the US in labour-intensive sectors, including toys, machinery, auto parts, chemicals, textiles, leather, gem and jewellery, and handicrafts, one of the officials said, asking not to be named.
