Govt Approves Pooling of 45K Acres for Amaravati

The Andhra Pradesh cabinet, chaired by chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu, on Tuesday approved the proposal of the AP capital region development authority (APCRDA) to acquire another 45,000 acres of land for the capital city of Amaravati from the surrounding villages under land pooling system.

After the meeting, state information and public relations minister Kolusu Parthasarathy said the cabinet decided to acquire additional lands for the capital city under the Andhra Pradesh Capital Region Land Pooling Scheme (Formulation & Implementation) Rules, 2025.

"The cabinet decided to undertake land pooling with a uniform framework to facilitate the establishment of world-class institutions, educational and healthcare infrastructure, and basic amenities. We shall take up the exercise in accordance with orders from the National Green Tribunal and Supreme Court, to ensure protection of water bodies," he told reporters.

The minister said the cabinet decided to implement land pooling without disputes while offering better compensation packages to farmers.
