Vigilance required to avoid convincing parking fines scam

Herald Express

ADDING to all the things we worry about, now there's a new parking scam doing the rounds.

And experts say it is pretty convincing too, preying on the very human emotion of panic and the need to deal with it to make it go away.

What it also does is capitalise on our fears, particularly, of falling foul of private parking operators who have a deserved reputation for levelling spurious penalties and then summarily rejecting challenges to the charges, relying that most people will eventually pay up when facing the threat of bailiffs rather than go to court.
