Staff fear for future after pizza chain closes 13 branches

PIZZA franchise Papa John's has closed 13 branches across the South West.

Branches in Torquay, Paignton and Newton Abbot are among the closures. The American chain said it had taken the decision after reviewing the performance of the franchised outlets.
Now staff concerned about the sudden decision and the impact on their livelihoods fear they will not be paid, nor have a job in the future.
A Papa John’s spokesperson said: “We hold all our restaurants to the highest standards and expect our franchisees to operate with integrity and in line with our values. Following a thorough review, we have ended our relationship with this franchisee.
