Major road upgrade looms

MOTORISTS face lengthy diversions as a major upgrade to the A382 gets under way later this month, with an 11-month closure at Whitehills roundabout followed by a yearlong shutdown at Forches Cross.

Devon County Council says the scheme, which will realign the A382 between Forches Cross and Stover and develop the Jetty Marsh Link road, aims to cut congestion and improve safety for walkers and cyclists.
The proposals are on display at Newton Abbot Library until the end of the month.
