Woman fined Dhs20,000 for insulting another

Al Ain Court of First Instance obligated a woman to pay Dhs20,000 to another woman for threatening her via WhatsApp and abusing the communication network for insulting her.
Earlier, a woman filed a lawsuit against another woman in which she requested the court to obligate her to pay her Dhs100,000 in compensation for the material and moral damage she suffered, in addition to the incurred fees and expenses.
The plaintiff pleaded that the defendant used WhatsApp for an illegal purpose of threatening and insulting her.
The defendant had been convicted of this charge in a previous criminal lawsuit, which was upheld by the Court of Appeal.
