The 24th cycle of the Clean UAE campaign, organised by the Emirates Environmental Group (EEG) under the esteemed patronage of the Ministry of Climate Change and Environment, made its 5th stop in the Emirate of Umm Al Quwain on 13th December.
In collaboration with the Department of Umm Al Quwain Municipality and Umm Al Quwain Police, the campaign carried forward its momentum with renewed energy, building upon the remarkable successes of earlier stations across the nation.
The Umm Al Quwain edition witnessed the enthusiastic participation of 890 participants from diverse backgrounds.
Wearing specially designed cotton T-shirts and caps and equipped with cotton gloves and biodegradable garbage bags, these dedicated individuals came together with a shared mission to safeguard and rejuvenate the natural beauty of their emirate.
Across the designated 5km site, the participating volunteers diligently collected 2,700 kg of waste.
In addition, 210 kg of recyclable materials were segregated and and sent to accredited local recycling facilities, demonstrating the campaign's steadfast commitment to responsible waste management and sustainability.
In her address, Dr. Habiba Al Mar'ashi, Co-Founder and Chairperson of EEG, highlighted the enduring significance of the Clean UAE campaign, which has been mobilising communi ties since 2002.
